I’ve never quite understood the relevance of a fasting protest. To me, it’s always been akin to a child saying they aren’t going to eat unless they get what they want. The difference is, the protesters aren’t children, and others have no vested interest in their well-being since they are adults. What is lost if they starve to death, honestly? It’s a question that really should be asked by the protesters, along with those being protested against.
Remember that the next time you see people on a fasting protest outside somewhere. Pat them on the head and keep walking, it’s their choice and they need to live with the repercussions.
